It’s time to EAT!
January 15th, 2008, 9:20 am by SusanEvan's communications skills are coming along more and more. His word for the day is 'eat' - he understands the sign language and mimics it while saying "eeeee" for 'eat'. He lets us know when he's hungry - which has been especially helpful this past week. He's been sick with a viral infection and hasn't been wanting to eat much. But when he's ready he walks into the kitchen, starts putting his fingers to his mouth, and says "eeeee", "eeeee", then it's followed by "eeezzz", "eeezzz" - which means 'please'. He also does the sign for please by rubbing his stomach with his hand. He's also starting to use the sign for 'thank you' - and using syllables of "da who". He also says his version of off and on for the lights, open and close for the door, up and down for the stairs - just to mention a few. He always waves hello and goodbye and likes to say 'hi' in the cutest, little voice to people as they walk by. He's sure busy learning - and keeping us on our toes!
