Evan had one of his first adventures in the snow today!  Papa got him all suited up in his snow bibs, boots, coat, gloves and hat and took him outside into our backyard.  Evan was not quite sure what to think – he had seen the snow falling for the last several weeks but now he was out and among the white fluff.  He tried to cling to his father's leg – as he tried to get his balance while his feet sunk.  His first thought was "this isn't fun".

Papa proceeded to encourage our little boy out into the sun – where it was a tad warmer.  Evan wasn't falling for papa's trick.  He sat down by a tree stump and refused to move further.   He didn't understand why it was so hard to walk on the white surface and why he couldn't keep his balance.  After a minute of collecting himself – Chris picked him ujp and chucked him into the snow.  Evan's eyes were full of terror – what had his papa just done to him?

But as papa continued to toss Evan into the snow the cries of mercy started to quite down and laughter began to take it's place.  "Wow – that was kinda fun" became Evan's tone.

Papa also threw himself in the snow and made a snow angel – Evan found this absolutely FUNNY!!

All in all, we all had a great time in the snow.  Next year we will try sledding!

When we moved to Utah we were aware that they had four seasons and that there would be some snow.  But, we weren't ready for the snowfall that we had this winter!  Here are pics of the first snowfall and Chris taking his shovel out for the first test.  We were told by several people (in an attempt to comfort us) that the snow fall has been this bad in over 10 years.  SURE!  Chris is already grumbling about next Winter and warning me it better not snow as much – here's keeping my fingers crossed!
