I can do it!
Saturday, October 20th, 2007Where does the time go? Ever since we moved into our house Evan has been very
dilligent in trying to touch the light switches to flicker them on and off - and much to his frustration he has not been able to reach them. It has almost been a daily struggle for Evan to stretch his little frame up the wall and try with all his might to reach the light swtich - all the way up on to his tippy toes - and yet he still couldn't reach it. But then - something glorious happened - something changed - he had a growth spurt - and what seemed overnight (for all of us!) - he was able to touch the switch and turn the lights on and off.
His facial expression was priceless. I can still recall how he turned to me and Chris once he turned the light on and then off - he was so proud - he finally had done it. HE was victorious! All of his training had paid off! He was the master of the switch! He proceeded to run around the house to test out if he could reach all of the switches and to his hearts delight - he was able too! And then he had to test them over, and over, and over and over again! A few days later - I had to tape the switches - I think I nearly broke Evan's heart. He had worked so hard and had waited so long for this moment. But my migraines cause me to be very sensitive to light and the constant flickering on and off of lights was starting to make me go crazy! So, Evan is now trying to figure out how to get the tape off and set the light switches free - at least he's never bored!
