It is hard to believe, but my little guy is now eight months old. I can easily remember a year ago wabbeling around with my big round belly and having no clue if we were having a boy and girl. Well – here we are with an incredible, amazing boy.
Evan continues to hit and surpass the milestones of infant development. Despite his difficult beginning he has been like a 'Phoenix' – he has risen from the ashes strong and proud and is taking on the world (well, taking on the living room at the moment).
It was just a month ago with Evan began to crawl and it consisted of 3 or 4 moves before he gave up. Now he is moving EVERYWHERE! and
he moves FAST! In addition to him crawling he started to pull himself up to standing by holding onto the furniture (or his papa or mama's leg).
Well, his mobility hasn't stopped! Evan can now pull himself up on the edge of the couch and he can take 3 or 4 steps on his own from one end of the couch to the other while holding onto it. My boy is walking! On average, an infant begins to walk at 12 months and due to Evan's size doctor's have cautioned us that Evan might take longer in physical development due how big he is. My boy likes to continue to prove those doctors wrong – I love it!
Also, Evan has been learning the art of falling very well – he's figured out how to sit down when he's standing or lean over and catch himself with his hands – this has help cut down on the head bonks.
Evan has also discovered how to get himself up into a sitting position from lying on the floor. For the last few weeks he's been pushing/pulling himself up into a semi-sitting position and would keep one arm propped on the floor to support him. Well, no more support is needed. Evan gets on his bottom and shifts his weight back and forth until he is balanced and can support himself. What an amazing dude.
It's also such a joy that Evan finds random things funny and just laughs – he is such a happy child. He can be crawling around the room or sitting and chewing on a toy and he'll just laugh out loud. He also smiles very easy – whenever I walk into a room or catch his eye when he's busy crawling about he will flash me a smile (a smile fillin' up with teeth!)
